"You are not Alone" - Blog #20

 You are not alone

The thought of being alone can be very scary.  I remember when I was diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria, my Neuropsychologist told me, "You are not alone".  Little did I know how True she was.  Because I knew I needed to transition for my health and peace, I was afraid.  Not only was I afraid and preparing to lose everyone in my life, I was also preparing to not having anyone else who can relate to who I am.  Honestly, when I was diagnosed as transgender with gender dysphoria, I did not know as much as I thought I did.  I thought with some medication and dressing differently was it, but it is so much more than that.  Since then, not only did I learn about the "real" science behind Transgender and Gender Dysphoria, but I realized what it entails, and that I am not alone.  I am not only not alone with with friends and family, but there are many people like me in the world, and there are a lot of resources for us. Recently, I have shared some posts that explained some of the negativity that us Transgender persons face, but there is so much positive experiences out there for us.  Even though it may not feel this way at times, but I believe most people either do not care who we are, or they are supportive in our challenges.  In other words, no more time for the "haters", just the positive.  During this past year, I have been able to validate who really supports me, while also meeting new supporters.  Plus, I have had the privilege of meeting online and in person other Transgender persons, and I value each one of them.  It is easy to live in fear, but being positive is where we all find peace and happiness.  So, instead of living in fear, I now chose Happiness.  It has been less than a year since I told the world who I really am; and since then I have started HRT and have been living my life as my authentic self.  Has it been easy, not always, but I am glad that I found the courage to take the steps in being me.  With all this in mind, I am Grateful that I am Not Alone, and I wish this same Peace for everyone.

Hugs,

Jade 😊
